How do I create a quiz with the AI Quiz Generator?

The AI Quiz Generator creates a ready-to-edit quiz from a book in the Epic library in just a few clicks. You choose the number of questions, grade level, and reading level, and Epic builds a starting set of questions for you to review, edit, and assign.

AI gives you a starting point. You know your students best, so be sure to review every question and answer before you publish.

Which books have the AI Quiz Generator?

Most Epic Originals have the AI Quiz Generator, plus over 1,000 other books in the library. We're adding it to more titles over time. If a book doesn't have it yet, you'll only see the option to add your own questions.

Create a quiz with AI

1. Open a book and select Create a Quiz.
2. Select Generate with AI.
3. Choose the following:
   1. number of questions 
   2. grade level (K–5)
   3. reading level (optional). 
4. Select Generate. Your quiz will be ready in a few moments.

Note: These settings can't be changed once the quiz is generated. To use different settings, create a new quiz.

Review and customize your quiz

Once your quiz is generated, select Edit next to any question to change the wording or the answer choices. You can also add more questions by selecting Write My Own or AI Generate. Select Preview My Quiz to see exactly what your students will see.

Publish and assign

Quizzes need at least 3 questions to publish. When you're happy with your quiz, select Publish quiz, then Publish to confirm. You can go back and edit a published quiz at any time; just select Republish to save your changes.

Once published, assign the book to your class and choose to require the quiz. Students take the quiz online after they finish the book, and Epic grades it for you.

Print your quiz

Select Get Printable to download a PDF of your quiz. You can also print an answer key. Printables are great for sub plans, small groups, or posting to Google Classroom.
